The Practice

Learning beyond curriculum makes learning more engaging, broadens the student’s perspective ,nurtures creativity, The college emphasis on providing training and skill development for all. Students are benefitted through Bridge courses, Certificate Courses , and Employability skill development courses. Counseling, Mentoring, Yoga sessions, Legal Awareness, Anti-ragging Awareness, , Alumni talk, Cultural events, Commemoration of days develops a strong sense of self confidence and exposes students to new opportunities.

Our students have successful stories of Academic honours, wonderful leadership roles, sports achievements, service to community skills, Excellent skill development, innovative initiatives excelling in personal and holistic growth of the Institution.

Problems encountered and Resources required :

Instilling these added skill training and developments other than academics is very challenging economically and exposing them to the competitive world, Our college Management supports the students in all aspects to foster excellent developments to cross all barriers for their better future.

Dr.R.V.Arts and Science College cares for the underprivileged, needy and talented students by providing scholarship to educate the rural students. Our Intuition offers Merit Scholarship for meritorious students, Sports Scholarship for those who excel in sports and games, Management Scholarship for economically weaker section, NGO Scholarship through other non-governmental organizations, Scholarship through Individuals , PG scholarship for pursuing Post Graduation for our alumni and SC/ST scholarship from state government.

Objectives of the Practice

1. To facilitate admission for talented and meritorious students.
2. To provide merit scholarship for the students who excel in education.
3. To provide sports scholarship to the students who excel in sports.
4. To provide management scholarship for the students of poor and marginalized community.
5. To arrange and provide NGO scholarships for the tribal students.
6. To provide special scholarship for the students who lost their parents.
7. To facilitate the students to receive scholarship provided by Government and Private.

Merit Scholarship

Merit Scholarships are provided to deserving students with financial support so that they can pursue their educational goals. The merit of a student is assessed for merit-based scholarship on their academic performance. Concession of Rs. 1000/- is provided to students who secured 80% to 85% in their Higher Secondary Examination and Rs.1,500/- concession is provided to students who secured 86% to 95% in their Higher Secondary Examination , Concession of Rs. 2000/- is provided to students who secured ABOVE 90% in their Higher Secondary Examination, those who secured SCHOOL FIRST are given100% scholarship.

Management Scholarship

The Management is providing scholarship to the students who are economically backward, Socially downtrodden, Orphan and with single parent. The students who fall under any of this category will receive 25% to 50% scholarship based on their family state of affairs, PG students are provided with fee concession to encourage the students to pursue their Higher Education in our college. Students from SRSI school, which is run by our Management are recognized and rewarded with 25% fee concession.

Sports Scholarship

The Students who achieve in State Level and District level sports are given fee concessions.

Government Scholarship (SC/ST)

The College guides the students to avail Scholarship for Backward Classes (SC/ST) from the Government. Income certificate serves as the primary evidence and family background for assurance. Institution takes maximum efforts to receive scholarship funds from the government. The criteria for scholarship includes:
i. The total annual family income should not exceed Rs 2.5(in lakhs).
ii. Their income certificate along with Aadhar card and Ration card must be submitted.

PG Scholarship

The students who studied their UG Degree Programme in our College are given special scholarship of Rs. 8000/- for first semester to pursue their Post Graduation in our institution.

The Practice

1. The student should have a good academic (merit) background.
2. The student must either belong to SC/ST category or minority background
3. The student must be from economically poor background.
4. Orphan and Single parent students are benefitted by Management scholarship.
5. Achievers in Sports at District and State levels.
6. Alumni of the college (for PG courses).
7. Scholarship through Individuals.

As there is no restriction for the number of students for claiming scholarship, we assure the right persons are benefitted. It is done under the guidance of the Principal and above-mentioned conditions , including instructions to acquire for government scholarships. Students are given proper counselling to know more about the scholarships and they are informed through their class in charges and HOD’s. For other scholarships, we adhere to the guidelines and restrictions provided by the relevant organizations. The practice is distinctive due to its dedication to rural and economically & socially deprived people. Additionally, this scheme helps a lot of students who are orphans and having single parent.

Evidence of Success

The success of the scheme is evident through the growing amount of monetary contribution being made by the management, Non-governmental Organizations (NGOs), Government, Private etc. The commitment of the above-mentioned sectors is quite proportional to its success.

Majority of the students avail the scholarship facility every year and the success rate of students getting degree is very good. Most of the students who have obtained scholarship in our institution are presentlyworking in reputed organizations and their standard of living has improved.

Problems encountered and Resources required

• It is very difficult to identify the deserving students in each category based on the required documents and evidences that are not timely submitted.
• Opportunities from various sources are not utilized due to difficulty in processing time.
• Discovering the Government/ Non-governmental Organizations offering student scholarship is achallenging task. As a result, only established sources are used to arrange the scholarships.
• Creating bank account within the due date to get scholarships of various government schemes especially for the students in the first year is challenging.
