About

Biotechnology utilizes biological systems, living organisms or parts of this to develop or create different products. The Department of Biotechnology was established in the year 2006 offering undergraduate program. The faculty members are experts in various fields of animal biotechnology, toxicology, microbial biotechnology, plant biotechnology, environmental science and bio informatics. The education prepares the students to join RD laboratories, Biotech companies, Medical Transcription, Hospitals, Academic streams, etc. Association Meetings, Extension activities and club activity under the name of flora and fauna are regularly conducted by the department to the students. Medical Coding and MLT certificate courses are offered to Final year students .Club activities assist students to cultivate a sense of unity and working with others in reaching the same goals .Clubs facilitate students to meet, mix, and work together with other students from different backgrounds in a diverse environment. In the flora and fauna club activity the department conducting various activities like competitions in Drawing, quiz and poster making. Preparations of pamphlets and audio visual clips regarding creating awareness about social issues and animal welfare.
